School Day

Our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 School Da

From September 2020, we have staggered start and finish times for children in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2). This allows us to move children safely into and out of school

For children in Reception or Key Stage 1 (Year 1 or 2), the day begins at 8.50am and ends at 3.10pm.

For children in Key Stage 2 (Year 3, 4, 5 or 6), the day begins at 8.45am and ends at 3.15pm.

In the morning, all parents of children from Year 1 to Year 6 are invited to drop their child(ren) off at the drop off point at front of the community centre. A member of staff will be at the gate to ensure that the children enter the school playground safely and all class teachers will be on the playground to greet them. We aim for this to alleviate some of the parking issues in the morning. Please be mindful when pulling into, and out of, the drop off point. If your child is in Reception and they have an older sibling, they will be allowed to walk in together if you feel that it is appropriate.

8.40 am   - Gates will be open by Mr Nicol and a member of SLT who will stand on the gate until it is locked at 9am.  All Key Stage 2 teachers will be on the playground to greet their class.

8.45 am – A whistle will blow and Key Stage 2 children will line up with their teacher and be led into school. All Reception and Key Stage 1 teachers will come on to the playground to greet their class.

8.50 am – A whistle will blow and Reception and Key Stage 1 children will line up with their teacher and be led into school.

9.00 am – Gates to the playground will close and be locked. Registers close at 9am and any child arriving after this must be taken to the school office and will be recorded as late.

It is an expectation that all children in KS1 enter school with their class at 8.50 am and all children in KS2 enter school with their class at 8.45am.

3.10pm – KS1 children home time (to be collected from the playground)

3.15pm – KS2 children home time (to be collected from the playground)

Children in Year 5 and Year 6 will be allowed to walk home alone from school with permission from parents. There will be a letter sent home at the start of the academic year for you to provide this. If you change your mind at any point, please contact the school office.
